Our esteemed Resident Aalim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from a life dedicated to Islamic scholarship and service across the globe. Proficient in English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Kannada, he has enriched numerous communities worldwide with his guidance.

Education and Certification:

After 14 years of intensive study at the renowned World Centre of Islamic Sciences (Madrassa e Hujjatia, Faiziya, and Dar ul Shifa) in Qum, Iran, Maulana Abidi was awarded his scholarly credentials.

Professional Journey

Since 1991, he has served communities as a Maulana and Resident Aalim in centers around the world:

• Masumeen Center - Bangalore, India (1991-1992)

• Shia Ithna Ashari Jama’at - Hong Kong (1993-1996, intermittent)

• Al Mahdi Islamic Center - Toronto, Canada (1997-1999, intermittent)

• Hussaini Association of Calgary - Calgary, Canada (1999-2006)

• Imam Bargah Saheb Zamaan - Bangkok, Thailand (2007-2010)

• KSIJ Mombasa - Mombasa, Kenya (2012-2017)

• KSIJ Mauritius - Mauritius (2017-2019)

• Imam Bargah Saheb Zamaan - Bangkok, Thailand (2020-2024)

In October of 2024 Maulana Abidi moved to Indianapolis, IN to serve as the Resident Alim of Zainabia Community Center.

In addition to these long-term posts, he has traveled extensively, visiting the UK, USA, UAE, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Tanzania, DR Congo, Rwanda, and Indonesia, spreading knowledge and participating in religious ceremonies and outreach.

Maulana Abidi also served as an official marriage solicitor in the Province of Alberta, Canada, where he provided this essential service to the local community.

Personal Interests

He holds a deep passion for reading, religion, culture, politics, and current events. Outside of his religious duties, he enjoys traveling and exploring business investments. His life and career are a testament to his dedication to uplifting communities worldwide and fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic faith and values.
